The 29th MUSIC-WINE celebration has already become a tradition, where every year on December 30, the world’s one and only 100 Member Gypsy Orchestra gives a grand gala concert.
100 musicians play at the same time on the grand concert, performing popular melodious tunes while the audience is tasting selected outstanding Hungarian wines.
This year we continue the tradition, treating our guests to famous operetta excerpts of Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán. The show will conclude with the inevitable “Pacsirta” and the Radetzky march, conducted by the principal violinist József Lendvai Csócsi.
A welcome drink will be offered to the audience, then during the concert for those who wish to enjoy a gastronomic experience in addition to the music, a festive wine dinner or a cold dinner plate and wines with the 100 Members, who will be unrivalled in both sound and spectacle.

Star singers, a world-class choir and the best-known holiday masterpiece – some of what the BFO has in store for its traditional Christmas concert. The program is no secret this time, and features four cantatas from Bach’s Oratorio, including the first, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the final cantata, exalting the power of the Lord. Julian Prégardien, a sought-after tenor for performances of Bach’s Passion, will take the stage in the role of the Evangelist, articulating the lyrics in his crystal-clear voice. Julia Lezhneva, often described by critics with the terms acrobatic and magical, will sing the soprano part in her angelic voice. Also on stage will be Olivia Vermeulen, whose voice stops even time itself and has been described as “clear as a bell.” The audience will also have the pleasure of hearing the flexible baritone of Hanno Müller-Brachmann. The choir movements will be performed by the Collegium Vocale Gent founded by the legendary Philippe Herreweghe.

With more than 11 million followers worldwide, he now takes the stage in Hungary for the very first time.

This year we continue the tradition, treating our guests to famous operetta excerpts of Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán with performances by distinguished operetta soloists. The show will conclude with the inevitable “Pacsirta” and the Radetzky march, conducted by the principal violinist József Lendvai Csócsi.
A special feature of the evening will be a wine tasting during the interval, where the audience will be able to taste excellent wines from Hungary’s selected winemakers and wine cellars.
